Art of Exotic Dance by Sophie K at Acro Polates
Acro Polates opened its doors one and half years ago, primarily as a pole & aerial fitness school. However, as the girls got increasingly comfortable with the pole, some express desire to add a touch of sexiness and sensuality to their pole work, we obliged and got one of Singapore's top exotic dance teacher, Sophie K to conduct a 6-week session.
The first season that started 2 weeks ago met with such good response ( it was a full house) that Sophie has kindly agreed to do another round starting 4 june 2010. Cost at $120 for 6 sessions, no administration fee. Sign up here.

Ah boy-a little human
As you can see, my Ah Boy has gotten a little chubby and so we take him on weekly runs. As a sweetener, he gets bak kwa (roasted pork) for completing half the course, and his favourite chicken rice.at the end of the finishing line.Like a child, he would find ways to wriggle himself out of the routine, like pretending to be distracted, or just stopped altogether looking tired and pitiful. It gets worse when the weather is not cooperative or conducive for a workout.
Today he tried to pull the same stunt, so mummy pulled out the packet of bak kwa and he immeditately sprang into action knowing that he had to complete the lap before he gets his treat....very cute la he

A husband's love
I've been wanting to blog this for a long time, but each time I have the time, I only have the energy to update my work stuff.
This post is about a most devoted husband I've known-my dad.
My mum is an opera addict, having performed and practiced cantonese opera from 16 to 60. She's now in her 60s and she still going strong in this artform.
My dad, not half as musically talented as my mum, enjoyed just chauferring her to and fro her practices. During his younger days he would wait around and see through her needs such as fetching her tea and buying her supper. Later as he got older, he would send her to the clan, then go home to nap or watch TV and be back in time to pick her up when practice is over.
Recently my dad just recovered from a mild stroke and we, the kids forbade him to drive. To curb his temptation so that he would take time off to recuperate properly (otherwise he would continue chauffering my mum and we caught him doing that several times), we had to do the cruel thing to sell off his car.
We encouraged our mum to carry on her pursuits to busy herself, but it also meant she would have to move out of the comfort zone to learn to take the public transport.
When my dad's health improved, he would saunter to the bus stop near our house to wait for his wife to come home from her bus ride.
When he got even better, he surprised my mum by taking the bus to the clan to meet her so that they can take the bus back together......and now apparently, is a regular ritual........and you should see the beam on my mum's face when she recounts this to us.

Bad then good news
Today is a queer day.
I was supposed to have a meeting with an event company and its client for selection of MC for their dinner event. Er..I was one of the choices, normally I don't like this kind of selection, I meet only when selected. But I was looking forward to seeing Hard Rock Cafe in Resort World for the 1st time, more importantly I wanted to be up close and personal with the enticing roller coaster.
Then half an hour before meeting, I received a call to say meeting was cancelled. Was a little sad, not able to see Singapore's current most talk about, and not getting a chance to be selected. But when I spoke to the event company rep, he said I was already selected! Hey!
Then today I made a mistake that cost me a couple of hundreds. I discussed with my colleague that we needed to seek discounts from other vendors to make good, and through lots of negotiation and pleading, we saved more than we lost.
All these by sheer God's grace, because I sought Him :)

Never too old
Acro Polates students' ages have been widening, we are seeing younger and older students, which is an excellent sign.
But still many older ones are usually worried and always ask if they are up to it. Sure there are precautions to be taken, but I hope this video is as inspirational to you as it is to me
She's 83, can't believe right.. I always tell myself I want to pole til 60, but now I hope I can push my boundaries...heehee
Anyway, here's me and Eunice today doing a shoot with me trying to masqurade the fact that I'm almost double her age...haha.
