3 very different things over the last 3 days

First I was the Hero Patrol of a software company, promoting viral-free computing.
Then I was Race Queen last night for a High Roller themed night
And today, together with these lovely gentlemen (Jack and Rico), we were promoting safety (at work of course--think construction. Nothing to do with birth control ok)

Candyman

Love the song, have been practising hard. Very proud to have practised this in my very own studio (you can have a sneak preview). This was the first rehearsal ever taken place.

Pardon the video quality and the singing, was little off at time.

I read about her today....

I quickly searched the youtube....gosh this is so gonna make you cry!

----added later----

gosh she has turned me into a HUGE fan, here's her one year later

After watching the second clip, now I'm a total emotional wreck, and even more convinced than ever that she is God-sent.

Connie Talbot, btw is another big child star discovered by Britain's got talent.

This was her first appearance which got Simon Cowell (yes, the usually with the unkind but true comments) cooing....

She has since released albums and if you want to watch more of her, search the youtube like I did

Not quite used to it......

....but i have to do it as part of my efforts to promote "Pole Fitness". No rauch, no touchy-feely, no sexy head/hair flips and seductive eyes!

I think I did ok judging by the audience's response....haha, it's so different from my usual performances!

When it's time, I will start another blog strictly devoted to this mission.

Any ladies interested in conducting/teaching basic and intermediate pole classes, pls email me at suziew@singnet.com.sg

GUANGZHOU FASHION PART I

I love all (well, most) of my purchases from my recent trip to Guangzhou.

There were no pre-trial of the clothes remember? So it makes it hard for one to determine if the clothes will fit or if it did, whether it will look good.

This silver top not only fits, but looks pretty decent with this skirt (skirt bought in Singapore, but I bought some look-alikes while there, cheap!). The shimmering top cost less than S$10, and the choker if I can remember just over S$5. Wore this ensemble for an MC assignment. Good buy!

Continues from last post

Sorry for the lack of posts. No I haven't lost the motivation to blog. Just that life has been really quite different now that I have to do most everything and make every decision myself since I'm self-employed.

Contrary to what I thought I would lead a more casual and relaxed schedule, I found myself going straight back to work after I returned from Guangzhou.

Anyway these are quick updates of my recent trip:

Gz Shopping

I love GZ shopping. the fashion very Hong Kong-styled BUT at a fraction of the price. But very tricky.....many shops are not fitted with fitting rooms, which probably explains my loot was over 20 t-shirts in 2 hours. If I had to queue for fitting rooms and try piece after piece, it probably won't be so fast. Can you see in the last picture my infamous shopping trolley bag that VB teases me about? I had to unload it in my hotel room twice in 3 hours

A tibetan themed restaurant-bar.

The experience was memorable. I love how the performers, the bar manager and waitresses all got up to do a series of mass dance. Needless to say, we were coaxed into joining them. Even though we were all tired out from the show, we participated for the heck of it and had a great time oggling at the good-looking "tribe" people. What you saw in the last post is the toilet door in the ladies washroom! Exquisite right?

The Makan (food)

It's no wonder my friend Meow Meow, Kit & May rave about the food in GZ. I wouldn't say I'm used to eating all the stuff, but I'm really impressed how you can find 4-storey restaurants in GZ and they are buzzling deep into the night! The bestest food I've had this trip is the "lau mian" (dry stirred noodles) you see in the top row middle picture.....gosh that plain thing tasted so good!

The event

The reason why I was there.

I had a great time and I have the following 2 people to thank (you know who you are)
I had some great buys, amongst which are these lovely little hair clips. ooh, I love them so much I wish I had bought more. No more hair bands for bunny ears or devils horn. They can be clipped on and they are extremely cute! I show you in another post

Bought some more for friends' kids. Ms R please take your pick for princess (er...the red mickey is reserved liao....by ME! hahaha)

The last picture is going to make you laugh so hard.

Moving forward

I'm officially "self employed" with effect from today!

I'm so.o.o.o ready to take on the race

My latest F1 ensemble ..................check out the black & white boots. It's not deliberate, I really broke one of each side! Lol..

Anyway, I wish THEM well

Stalking.....

........... is a serious mental illness.....amongst the several definitions, one reads "to follow or observe (a person) persistently, especially out of obsession or derangement"

If you think the person being stalked is mentally tormented, I believe the one who stalks is no less anguished, for he has to do this stealthily, plan hideouts or excuses in the event of being discovered.

It baffles me why people can't just be upfront and ask you honestly what you are up to & wish you well, but instead snoops around behind your back and observe your movements at some uncustomary hours.

It only makes me believe a stalker has no intention to see his "victim" well, he only hopes to see you falter. I hope people like this learn to get a life.

Sorry, I'm in a philosophical mood...lol

I heart the heartlanders

I love performing outdoors, for the heartlanders....it's different. The crowd stream in, usually alone, or with a spouse, or with an immediate family. Usually they don't know the people standing or sitting beside or behind them. They are here just to watch, listen and to pass time or out of curiousity. They are not here to be engaged in interaction or participation in the same way as in a company dinner.

It's not easy to measure how much they are enjoying your performance. The only yardstick is by the applause, or how long they stay.

I particularly love last night's performance. The set-up was rather extravagant, I had a great audience. They were glued, you could tell, their eyes were transfixed on me. They responded to my every attempt to greet or joke with them (some hearty parts available only on the unedited video, sorry, else will be too long for me to load). I even had one uncle shouting "ho ah ho ah" (great great) each time I completed a song.

I opened my set with my "broken bottle" 酒干倘卖无 song with some pole spins (I can hear vb chuckling)

And then of course, my ki-lat pole stunts:

After my performance, I had several "heartland" show organisers asking for my contact, I think I've created a new trend for heartland shows!

P.s. I thank Jasmine for her help in this show. I'm sure she'll blog her segments very soon, and I'll link it here, babe

QUICKIE UPDATE

Malacca is such a pretty and somewhat lazy town. Was there for an event over a weekend.
On the way there
I was put up at a hotel by the straits of Malacca (behind)

At the far end of the jetty is a KTV. I gave up walking there halfway.

Views from my room

Have been busy lately, so the lack of updates. Something nice gonna happen soon, keeping my fingers crossed!

DANCE! DEBUT ISSUE FEATURES SUZIE

Suzie thanks Dance! for being one of the main feature of its inaugural issue.

From the name, I'll be a fool to elaborate what the 34-page magazine is about, but the 2-page article constitutes one of the best article so far written about pole dancing in Singapore, thanks to Clarice Koh and Tyris Yar. I shall show you only half of it, if you want to read more, please grab a free copy from your favourite dance studio or outlets like Arena, Bikini Bar, Double O and even fashion outlets like 77th street and Chaos.

If you are a belly dance enthusiast, there are lots to read about belly dancing because from what i understand, this magazine is the baby of an avid belly dancer, so get a copy today (haha, sounds so commercial!)

Another Fishing Day

The weather was fine and I could not resist the offer to go wishing again. Gosh what is this thing about fishing and prawning.

This is only my 2nd trip and already I have this catch, a 16-inch golden snapper, which makes it the champion catch of the day amidst seasoned fishing-enthusiats...hahaha!

Don't accuse us of being cruel for we released many other fishes back into the sea, for example this huge queen-fish that gave my friend such a powerful and consistant fight!
Ah! Not sure if I have the time to do this with my impending new venture, but I do hope to have more time to do things for myself.

Digress:

I'm need 2 sets of these lights.....anyone knows where I can get them?
