SPOOKY OR KOOKY?

My beautician, Y told me this while I was having my facial the other day.

Y used to have an arowana , of which she reared from a baby til it was almost 2 feet in length. One day Y returned home spent from shuttling between tending to her salon and 2 kids. Y is a single mum, you see. She collapsed on her tatami on the living room the minute she reached home after sending kids to school and fell asleep almost instantly.

She claimed she woke up dazed to find a stranger, a girl sitting next to her. The girl said she had come to bid her farewell as she was going for reincarnation. As the girl was a total stranger, she hurriedly got up and showed the girl to the door and pleaded for her to leave. When she opened the door, she saw 3 more strangers standing outside and they seemed to be waiting for the girl, and off they went.

When Y hit the tatami again, she claimed she became wide awake and couldn't sleep and hence she decided to head back to her salon.

That night, when she returned home, she found her pet fish sprawled on the floor, perished. Y was devastated.

Next day as she was clearing out the fish and the fish tank, a neighbour came out and asked what had happened. When Y explained what had happened, the neighbour replied "Yah, so weird. Yesterday my 3 hampsters also died"!!!

Remember the 3 strangers standing outside the door! Ewww............

Hmm....ya, er...thought the story wasn't that bad til er...Y said it happened on the first day of a certain month!

But, ya, WG, Y actually says that the fish usuallly seemed to be able to understand her woes.

hmmmm...spooky, but not scary...quite nice really. almost as if it's kindness begets kindess.

but hor...just curious...is your beautician buddhist??

pure academic curiosity- wonder if pple 'see' what they 'see' depending on their beliefs... in this case, reincarnation and the circle of life idea.

Yes, she believes in anything that she thinks can help her. She is really nice but rather shitty with luck. Had an awefully lazy hubby and all the separation, home matters has taken a toll on her eldest daughter's behaviour. She's really stressed out but she still remains positive. So I'm not surprise what she experiences is a result of stress and hallucinations. But again, she has gone thru much funny stuff and always telling me when I'm having facials. Next time I'll tell you all her encounter with a bat at her home, a HDB flat!! But this time I thot the 3 persons standing outside & the coincidence of the 3 hampsters was really funny.

If anyone wants to help her out by giving her business and needs a beautician btw, pls email me and I'll give you the contact & address

So spooky! So you mean the fish jumped out of the tank? But then silver and gold arowanas supposed to bring luck and fortune leh, which is why towkays pay big bucks to buy big (gold) arowanas.

Yes sis. That's the mind-boggling part. And she claimed that the fish tank has a cover and a lamp on top, and everything seemed to be in tact when fish found outside!

Her life is just very colourful, she has many strange encounters. Also partly because of her life experiences, I think she probably keeps many lucky charms or artifacts to improve and perhaps they "chong" (you know, like 'clash'). Someone told her her daughter so naughty maybe must change her daughter's name. She paid so much for the guy to change her name, and he was obvioulsy such a crook. She took daughter to 'som-pah', deed poll NRIC and went thru so much trouble and then she told me 'it works, it works' she very 'guai' now. The next time i met her i asked her how, she said daughter naughtier than before. She 'guai' only because she had wanted something from her. See la!

well.. i have a similar story (but not so spooky). we had a fish (what they call 'jin long yu' in mandarin) which we kept for about 10 yrs.

then i had a nightmare one night where somehow the fish jumped out of its tank and i stepped on it, all mashy and stuff. very gross sight.

the next day, when i woke up, the fish was out of its water and lying dead next to the tank. same thing... the tank looks ok and stuff (probably when the fish jumped out the top netting latched back into place)

Same breed, EDPJ, arowana is the 'jin long yu'. Isn't it strange. Now my beautician's story seems believable!

aiyoh - why you all so skeptical? I believe everything leh.

Hahaha....ok, believe one more thing, Ms SL. My eldest sis just told us that it is rumoured that when an arowana goes, it is meant to have ward off some mishap of the owner.....Yes, and twisted mind one have a funny reaction to that which I'll tell you when i next see you
