WRAPPING UP 2006

It has been a good 2006 despite some neglectable downers.

That's why on x'mas eve, instead of basking myself in the commercialised revelry, i chose to attend a candle-light service to thank God for showing me mercy. Sis, this pic is for RJ to show that Che Che is here too!
I also had a good time catching up with family and loved ones. (Meow, this is the butter cream log cake that you missed........yummmmmm.......

The cancellation of tonight's show made last night one of the busiest gigging night for the year. And my other killer 51/2 -inch platform boots became wobbly after I attempted a "split" at one of my shows......hahaha. If not for that, I would have forgotten I still have this other awesome pair tucked away in the store. They attracted some stares and some enquiries of where i got them, but i have to disappoint them by revealing that I had them imported from the US even though at the sole it says "made in china". SL, I think these boots very you! And VB, who says mail order can be bad? See how fitting they are?

And WG, thank you so much for your well-wishes, not sure if you seen the comment of the last thread that i was initially too shy to show everybody my handspring blooper. But ah, what the heck, it's almost the last day of the year and let me cheer some people up and have a laugh. http://s62.photobucket.com/albums/h97/mingassuziewong/?action=view&current=handspringblooper28Dec.flv

And yes, I will get it by in New Year!

And lastly, 3A, Faerie and Bling girl and all the rest of you, thank you for having been here occasionally. Never realise how this virtual thing can keep us in touch otherwise not possible due to our respective busy lives.......Good to know you all had been blessed, so, may you all have another great year!

Let's take life

CAN FAKES DO THESE?

I'm not trying to sound ahem, egoistical again. Apparently a client has cancelled MYshow for an upcoming event in search of a more economical alternative! (I'm that expensive meh????)

Sometimes not all cost-effective choices are effective........ you think they can turn the party into this all within 20-mins? (photos of the most recent shows)

CAN POLE DANCING BE A GUY THING?

STAY TRUE TO YOUR DREAM

A fellow Singaporean Myspacean wrote me this :

"From what little i've seen, i sincerely believe you're one of Singapore's most talented entertainers. I'm totally impressed! I know how difficult it must be for you to focus on your craft in a country where artistic pursuits are marginalised. Stay true to your dream... Its gonna take you places!"

The discipline, dedication and sheer athleticism required for your chosen craft is awe-inspiring! How do you do it?! Lotsa singaporeans i know are busy in the pursuit of the almighty dollar, as if accumulating wealth would somehow validate one's existence! Isn't it ironic that it only leaves them hollow and undefined. ~life's too short! That's why i'm SOo impressed with what you do. It isn't easy, i'm sure. But please stick with your craft, you are REALLY good! This fellow singaporean is awfully proud of what you do! Whether you care to admit it or not, you're one of our pioneering heroes! ~So go on, take a bow, you deserve it, Suzie!"

HAPPY 2007!

KIDS OF ALL SHAPES AND SIZES .......

...LOVE AUNTIE MING'S POLE......They were here on x'mas. While the adults were hardly interested, these kids had turned my pole practice room into their playground......Once i got them started, they wouldn't stop

SMALL

Natalie (ooh, look at how she daintily tucked in her feet!)

MEDIUM

Her sister, Melissa

AND LARGE

And lastly, my niece, hanging on to dear life!

They were my only audience, clapping and cheering for me, and requesting for stunts. They were so thrilled to see the stunts live-- like the bat, the scorpio. Kids being kids, their all time favourite was "SUPERMAN"

Some more came and tried, but didn't quite make it to Auntie Ming's Pole Of Fame......hahahahaha

IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME I TRIED NEW POLE STUNTS

Due to my heavy schedule and slightly hurt wrist, couldn't do much lately (that's why people please respect pole dancers, lots of occupational hazards).

Looks like some stunts may elude me due to my small hand grip. I'm still working hard on 2 moves called the handspring and the pencil. When i succeeed, i will proudly exhibit them here. These moves are like those that will differentiate which level you at, you know! For now i just perfect on what i already can do. Saw this video the girl did quick switches of 3 moves without hands touching the pole and i thought was way cool.....so here it is, and i'm gonna incorporate in my new shows http://s62.photobucket.com/albums/h97/mingassuziewong/?action=view&current=scorpiotohipholdtogemini21dec07.flv

Talking about pole dancing, something funny happened. I'm not about to jinx this thread telling you so please read under comments in the LAST POST. Hahaha woman very weird

X'MAS DANCE

Hey,VB, nope, no X'mas carol attached to the previous card. But instead i did a DANCE for you, and for the rest of you too, how's that?

I practised very hard for it, so please give me some applause at the end.

And in case you wonder why my hair is blonde, I was wearing this wig:

This my niece's (Fei x2) dance (haha, she looks so pretty, i know she has started tuning in too)

MERRY X'MAS EVERYONE

I told you I can't stop blogging!

CAN'T STOP BLOGGING

Now that my blog is unlocked, I can't stop blogging! Isn't it scary that it's like first a pager, than computer, than a handphone, than internet connection.......it's ok if you don't have it, but once you have it, you cannot live without it????? Like I was telling some of you, my life was coming to a standstill when this damn thing was locked! Please don't spam it lah!

So, so many things to catch up I don't know where to start.

All I can remember now is, I'm happy to have a good start to 2007 for my JANUARY 2007 schedule is well-filled, some of the dates already fully booked! This, despite my POLE DANCE SHOW so quickly already known to have copy cats! So, party, cakes, have to wait.

I was singing at an event when on the opposite ballroom i spotted not 1, but 2 pole props set up of stage, almost exactly like mine. 2 skimpily clad girls where gyrating with, and to the pole. Audience were invited to dance with the pole like i would in my promotion videos. I walked over and quickly the event people were introduced to me and sheepishly clarified that theirs were "just dancing, no stunts like yours". Cool, seems that they know I'm the REAL STUFF! Then next day my boss went for an event presentation and at the mention of my pole show, the client said "Oh someone already sold us this idea". When pursued further with my most recent video, the client were clearly impressed with my pole stunts and declared what they were offered by another company was not like that!

Remember my "Pole'fessional Entertainer"? The name has caught on in USA, someone actually using this name too!!!!

1st MALE pole student

Now that my blog is back, can show you this liao-----my pole student, and it's a "HE"...hehe

Meet DK. Just after 3 lessons?
http://media.putfile.com/DK-3rd- how's that?

Psst : takes a while to load! Have a coffee first

TEST TEST.......

YEAH! IT'S BACK, IT'S BACK..............THANK YOU BLOGGER! WOO-
HOO! I'M ELATED

Wah, my tears rolling down my cheeks, I'm rejoicing. I can blog again! Please tune back in!

CHANGING VIEWS

Glad i survived one of the most nightmarish weekends, the coming ones are quite manageable, I think. And God has blessed me with good health to weather the gruelling schedule. Now is the time I can afford (not quite R&R yet) a bit of enjoying the beautiful view. Ooh, look what I've got:

WHO SAYS SUZIE IS NOT A COMEDIENNE

Previously in some of my introduction materials, I classified myself as "singer, entertainer, comedienne" The 3rd classification usually raised some eye brows as if "you can be funny meh?"

I know, I know, it is really not easy to be one. Usually in those don't-know how many minutes to fame reality show where you have to showcase some either singing, dance or tell-a-joke talent, the latter always have the highest casualty rate, and can really fall flat.

Anyway, just take a look at the recent pictures of a show on 2 Dec (if you observant, you will notice this show and the recent pole show same night! See the kind of transformation i have to undergo) and you tell me if i qualify

Don't ask me why sometimes my expression so funny, i can't explain and usually cannot be replayed.

Er, finally, I've got to place this slide here to show you how different 2 shows in 1 night again......heehee...I know I how lian, eat me

BRILLIANT POLE DANCE PICCIES

Had quite a shitty day today, but these pictures cheered me up.

THANKS JAC, YOU ARE A BRILLIANT PHOTOGRAPHER Last pole show 2 Dec. Pretty cool huh?

Now I can't wait for the video to arrive next week

AN AWARD FOR POLE DANCING--YIPPEE

An international pole dance forum, based in the UK, and with close to 900 pole members from all over the world namely UK, Australia, USA, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, Greece etc etc has crowned me this via members' voting

There were a total of 10 categories and i was supposed to have won this category by a long shot! hahahahaha...............I'm elated

Thank you, thank you (bow bow, blow kisses, blow kisses) hahaha....

Hahaha, you know what's funny? When i was young and competing in like sports day or netball etc, I always have this eager beaver look on my face (my sis can vouch for that)....you know that wide-eye, tightly clenched lips and fists...hahaha, so when i win this award i picture myself looking like this when practising all my pole stunts, and that's probably why they gave me this title!

VERY VERY CREATIVE

Just received a belated birthday present. Thought I will share with you what's on the card

DO YOU KNOW....

....HIM?

A few years ago (about 3 or 4 years maybe), I was approached to help in a
project led by him (ok, not quite this project but if you continue to click to affiliated sites and then his personal site, wait a while to load, a song comes on....Recognise that voice? Anyway if no time, don't bother, the whole thing takes so long to load).

I was NOT meant to receive a fee for this. Instead, i was promised loads of opportunities that comes with the success of this project. I remembered him saying "What's your fees now? $400? $500 for one song? If this blah blah is successful, we are talking about $4000 to $5000 for you to sing one song, what is $400-$500 now" " Yah, yah!!! Haha! Anyways, not surprised at all that to date, nothing has happened. Or maybe not yet.

If you think I was naive or gullible, let's just say I had complete reservations but since a close friend's brother had wanted a piece of the project and despite some warnings, pleaded with me to help, I did it (you can say just to prove a point, On hindsight, I wouldn't do it now). Anyways it didn't take me more than a night to learn and record this song, that explains why singing a bit not that good lah.

When nothing happened, not even my friend nor the brother called to explain matters. But now almost 4 years later, my friend's brother suddenly called to "touch base". Surprise surprise!!! All because he wanted other advice for something else. When quizzed about this project (just tee-kee la), all he could say was " oh that's the other thing I wanted to tell you, I'm so sorry to have got you involved!" Wah! So touched!

MISCELLANOUS

I had quite a kick-a** week and i should be so happy.

1. Shows Went Well
The shows all went so well last week, especially my pole show and i have video and photographs to vouch for it, altho I haven't laid hands on them yet. They were taken professionally rather than with my camcorder and i need to wait for them to be delivered. Will post hopefully soon, so stay put!

2. What cute shots
Have you seen him before? Asian body-building champion. I asked to be photographed with him and he was so friendly.
(ok i know my hair looked funny in this one, was because i had it all bundled up for the show and so untamable and in a mess when released)

3. Had Butter Cream Cake for Birthday
It was so....o.o.o.o nice. Only problem was....think i left too little for myself after that. For days after, I'm still yearning for the cake, I didn't have enough for myself !!! So those who took some, please don't waste it or I will not forgive you! Hahaha

4. Spiderman jokes again
Last Night, wanted to check out a few places, Dragonfly, Jewel Box etc. While trying to find a parking lot at Mt Faber, I saw many cars parked at this place that says "FOR COACH ONLY". Spider said: "You can park what! You are also a coach-- a singing coach, a pole dance coach......." Haha
BUT
As I mentioned, I should be so happy, but a used-to-be very good colleague's recent attitude sucked big time, arrogance got this person into trouble with some industry people and I have to sort it out...Don't know how, so I dread coming to work this morning...SIGH!
P.S. Oh yes, Ms SL, I went Pu Tien last night and tried the crab vermicelli......was so good.....

LONG LIVE SUZIE

Check this out.............and i'm not kidding.

I just came home from 3 shows tonight, the last one being 10.20pm and it was for about 1000 guests.

When i arrived and handing my music to the DJ, the MC of the evening came up to me and in a rather cynical way said " wah! tonight's crowd damn jia-lart. They cannot be moved one. I would like to see how you handle them. Good luck to you".......

I smell challenge! And don't i just love that.

I secretly took him on. Carefully and slowly I worked the crowd, and by my last song, they had to call in the security!!

Need I say more?

SHORT CLIP FOR FOOD REPLUBLIC VIVO CITY OPENING

this a sequel to the an earlier post

Quite a dodgy clip la, but as you can see i didn't even have an assistant, I had to place video on top of DJ console to film myself when I was singing.

What to do? Suzie is such an independent performer she has no artiste manager, godmother, minder, assistant etc. She usually goes to shows alone and handles everything herself.

The last show i did at grand shanghai restaurant i was so surprised my co-singer besides having a professional makeup/hair artist to tend to him, he had with him an artiste manager, a godmother and later even his talent agency "lao ban" and a fellow celebrity artiste (the handsome one who acted in light years, i think) were there to "tam pan" (visit production site in cantonese). Everyone fussed over his tea, meals, hair, clothes etc etc. For me? I lugged my own costumes, did my own hair & make-up, even brought my own mineral water, bought my own dinner, did my own sound check and finished show & drove myself home....hehehe . I'll be lucky sometimes with several shows in a night I hire my personal taxi driver, his name is Michael

MULTI-TASK

If you think suzie is just all glam glam like this.....

...this.....

...and this.....

WRONG!

I was THIS today!

Thoroughly enjoyed it but I came home with a massive headache if you can see what I mean!

Oh! I forgot, it you suffer from migrain, don't click on the link! I cans till hear the children's voice ringing in my head

VIVO CITY FOOD REPUBLIC OPENING

Do you consider this a dream come true?

The first time I paid this place a visit, i secretly wished that Suzie Wong would perform here some day. I am certain for once she is gonna blend in, no one is gonna give her the weird stare.

Perform she did, and at their Grand Opening some more, that took place yesterday..............It was a grand affair, with Kym Ng and Chen Shu Cheng being the MCs of the event. Everyone including the VIP and invited guests, the photographers, the sound technicians dressed to the ocassion and was an awesome sight.

I sang only 2 period songs because there were other performers.

I got this as a souvenir as something to remember this event by.

I did some video-ing but have no time to edit. Will do a short clip when have time

KAWAII

Oooh.....HABBY BIRTHDAY TO ME.........
